And still save?
European health insurance
With European health insurance, the entire European economic area is an insured region. That means for you, it is no matter where you can be treated in the EU.
Already in the "Comprehensive" tariff there is the possibility to get a single-bed room with inpatient treatment.
Admission to the EuKV is not particularly complicated. The contributions are the same for everyone and can be found here. Although previous illnesses and chronic diseases also have to be reported, there are no increase in premiums. Even with a negative Schufa entry, you will find your way to health insurance.
No penalty fees!
Many see the biggest advantage in the waiver of the criminal contributions that would be necessary to resume in the German GKV or PKV. The amount of the criminal fees can currently be up to 19 monthly contributions. Calculated since April 1, 2007 and PKV February 1, 2009. As of 09.2014 (Further information).
Back to the world of insured
In summary, the EU insurance is a real alternative. It is your chance to get an optimal price/performance ratio and to find it back to the world of insured persons.
Of course there are special features here too. German health insurance companies form retirement provisions in order to absorb the higher costs in old age.
With European health insurance, prices are an integral part and quite cheap. To do this, however, they have to make provisions and form reserves themselves.
Also keep in mind that long -term care insurance should be taken out separately.
German long -term care insurance is a pure German product, so the EUKV cannot offer German long -term care insurance.
We would be happy to take over the complete handling for you and are available for further questions.
Private health insurance with your advantages and disadvantages
The advantages of private health insurance are known. In addition to the chief physician treatment, single -bed rooms and preferred treatment (depending on the tariff), the tariff adjustment of the personal situation is crucial.
Depending on the income, there is the possibility to insure yourself legally or go to the PKV. However, the possibility is limited to your personal income, your Schufa information and your possible previous illness.
Each family member must be insured separately. The contribution payment obligation goes beyond six weeks in the event of illness.
The difficulty here is in the financial situation. Depending on the tariff, the PKV is relatively expensive and increases from previous illnesses. A rejection is not always to be expected, but can also be done by negative Schufa entries.
For legal reasons, it is currently not possible to switch to European health insurance for customers of private or statutory health insurance. According to German law, the EU-KV has no longer been recognized as legitimate health insurance insurance since 2016, but this is necessary to terminate the existing contract. According to §193 VVG, the EUKV meet the EEA insurers, including Morgan Price and ALC only partially the compulsory insurance in Germany. Risk reserves in old age and the prescribed contributions to long -term care insurance are not included, here separate contracts must be concluded and reserves must be formed. Due to this currently applicable regulation, it is not recognized as subsequent insurance.
Therefore, we can currently only convey uninsured customers to the EU KV who, due to non-collected criminal contributions, as well as negative Schufa information is a very good alternative to statutory or private health insurance. In the event of illness, European health insurance ensures it against financial risks. For decades, the EEA service providers have been offering millions of customers worldwide at a similar level as German PKV’s.
As customers of a private health insurance or GKV, do you still want to optimize your tariff and find the tariff that suits your situation? Are you thinking about returning to the GKV or would you like to switch to PKV? We are happy to provide you with all questions, advise you and show you the possible potential of a comparison or a change. As soon as German legislation changes its view to the EuKV, we as an insured person will be happy to inform you again about the possibility of switching to the EUKV and support you in doing so.
